Put frequent tools within reach, make space for the page and choose what happens after a capture. The dashboard brings these controls together.

## Version and availability

This guide covers Sitepeel 1.0.3. Preview 1.0.3 here. Browser-store availability may vary while the update rolls out. The website demo lets you try the updated tools on public Sitepeel pages without an account.

## Open the dashboard from the tools

Click the small dashboard icon beside the profile button in Sitepeel tools. The dashboard includes Overview, Capture, Capture history, Dock & sidebar, Responsive viewer and AI settings. You can change defaults without keeping a large settings panel over the page you are inspecting.

Try the dashboard in the website demo to explore the controls. Demo settings affect the tools on this website; they do not change your installed extension. In the extension, open its own dashboard to set up your everyday workspace.

## Choose the layout that leaves your page readable

Open Dock & sidebar and choose the bottom dock or a vertical sidebar. For the sidebar, select the left or right side. The preview shows the selected layout and its position so you can see how it will sit beside the page.

The bottom dock works well when you want broad access to tools without a tall panel. A sidebar can make labels easier to scan on a wide desktop. On a small laptop or tablet-sized browser window, check that the tools and the page content both remain reachable. Use the tool scrollbar when the full list cannot fit.

- Keep the sidebar away from the page navigation you need to test.
- Collapse the tools before checking a fixed page footer.
- Reopen the minimized tools from the small tab at the side.
- Use the dashboard preview to compare positions before returning to the page.

## Arrange the tools by task

Move the tools you use most often toward the beginning of the list. The dashboard offers drag reordering and move controls, so the order can also be adjusted without dragging. Hide tools you do not need for the current workflow; hiding a tool does not remove it from your purchase.

For design review, start with Inspect & measure, Detect fonts, Extract colors and Screenshot. For building from a reference, place Pick element, Clone page, Design MD and Design prompt together. Keep Responsive viewer near the tools you use to verify the result.

Example tool orders to adapt

| Workflow | Put these first |
| --- | --- |
| Design review | Inspect & measure, Detect fonts, Extract colors, Screenshot |
| Frontend reference | Pick element, Clone page, Design MD, Design prompt |
| Responsive QA | Responsive viewer, Inspect & measure, Edit text, Screenshot |

## Set capture defaults once

In Capture, choose whether a screenshot opens in the editor or downloads directly. Set your preferred format, quality and export scale, and choose how many recent captures history should retain. Save important captures as files rather than relying on browser storage indefinitely.

Scroll before capture is enabled by default for lazy-loading pages. Long page capture expands the screen limit when you need it; increasing the limit also means more work and a larger image. The advanced settings in the capture panel use these saved preferences when you return.

## Keep optional controls in the dashboard

Responsive viewer settings control defaults such as synchronized scrolling, labels and the starting arrangement. Individual device sizes, scale and positions can then be adjusted in the viewer itself.

AI settings live in the dashboard so they do not occupy a separate button in the dock or sidebar. AI is optional: you can generate the extracted Design MD reference and design prompts without connecting a provider. If you add your own provider, its usage charges and terms apply.

## If the tools are missing or settings look different

First check whether the tools are minimized or the tool is hidden in Dock & sidebar. If the browser toolbar icon is missing, pin Sitepeel from your browser’s extensions menu. Browser settings pages and extension stores restrict inspection, so test on an ordinary website.

Check the extension version if your dashboard does not match this guide. After an update, reload the page where the tools were already open. If you were experimenting in the website demo, remember to make the same preference changes in the installed extension.
