Download embedded videos from a website

To download a video from a website, paste the page’s link into Sitepeel’s free video downloader. It opens the page, scrolls it so every video loads, and lists the MP4 and WebM files and streaming playlists it plays, with a preview. Videos on YouTube, Vimeo or social sites and protected streams can’t be saved.

What the video downloader finds

Every video file the site serves itself, wherever the page plays it.

  • MP4 and WebM filesBackground videos, product clips and video players, in each format the page offers.
  • Videos loaded by scriptsClips a player or slider fetches after the page loads, caught as they arrive.
  • Hidden and lazy videosVideos for other screen sizes, closed tabs and clips that load only when you scroll.
  • Streaming playlistsHLS playlists (.m3u8), one per video, with its quality levels folded in.
  • A preview of eachHover a video to play it, or open it to watch with sound and see its size and address.
  • Every image tooThe same run finds the page’s images, SVGs, fonts and 3D models.

What it can’t download

  • Videos on YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, X or Facebook. They stay on those sites, so they aren’t listed; use the site’s own download or offline option.
  • Protected (DRM) streams, like films and paid courses. They are encrypted, and we don’t try to get around that.
  • One MP4 from a stream. A streaming video comes as a playlist of small pieces: you get the playlist to open in a player like VLC, not a joined file.
  • Pages behind a login. Use the Sitepeel Chrome extension on the page you have open.

FAQ

Questions about the video downloader

What is a website video downloader?

A tool that finds the video files a web page plays and saves them. Sitepeel opens the page, lists every MP4, WebM and streaming video the site serves, and lets you download one or all of them.

How do I download a video from a website?

Paste the page’s link and press Find videos. Open a video to preview it, then press Download, or press ZIP for all of them. Our guide covers other ways to download a video from a website.

How do I download an embedded video?

If the site hosts the video itself, it is listed here, even when it plays in a custom player. A video embedded from YouTube or Vimeo stays on that site, so it isn’t.

How do I download a video from a site that doesn’t allow it?

When right-click is turned off, the file is often still there: paste the link and it is listed if the page loads it. Protected (DRM) streams are encrypted and can’t be saved, and reusing any video needs the owner’s permission.

Can it download YouTube or Vimeo videos?

No. Those videos stay on YouTube’s and Vimeo’s servers, and their terms limit downloads. Use their own download or offline options, or see video downloader extensions compared.

What is an M3U8 file?

A playlist for a streamed video: it lists the video in small pieces instead of holding one file. Open it in a player like VLC. This tool lists the playlist; it doesn’t join the pieces into one MP4.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It runs in any browser, on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install.

Is the video downloader free?

It works like the asset extractor: you get a few free runs to start, then sign in (free) to keep going, and lifetime access makes them unlimited.

Can I reuse the videos?

They belong to the site’s owner. Use them for reference, or ask for permission before you reuse them.
