Website to HTML converter
To convert a website to HTML, paste its link into Sitepeel’s free Website to HTML tool. It opens the page, lets every section load and saves what you see: the HTML without scripts, one CSS file with only the rules the page uses, and its images, fonts and videos, in one ZIP to open on your computer.
What’s in the ZIP
Everything the page needs to look the same on your computer. Unzip it and open index.html.
- index.htmlThe page as a browser shows it once it has loaded: its text, menus and sections, with scripts and trackers left out.
- styles.cssOne stylesheet with only the rules the page uses, gathered from every stylesheet it loads, in order. Media queries, animations and
@font-facestay. - assets/imagesEvery picture, logo and icon, lazy-loaded ones included, saved under its own name and linked from the HTML and CSS.
- assets/fontsThe font files the page loads, so the text keeps its typeface offline. Check a font’s license before you reuse it.
- assets/mediaBackground and product videos the page plays by itself, up to 25 MB each. Longer ones stay linked to the site.
- Pictures of canvasesCharts, 3D scenes and other drawings made by scripts are saved as pictures, in their place on the page.
What it can’t copy
- What scripts do. Menus that open on click, sliders, tabs and forms show as they looked when the page loaded, and logins and checkouts don’t work.
- Embedded frames, like YouTube videos, maps and chat widgets. A plain box keeps their place.
- Pages behind a login. Use Clone page in the Sitepeel Chrome extension on the page you have open.
- More than one page at a time. Its links still point to the live site.
- The rights to the content. Its text, images, logos and design belong to the site’s owner: copy pages to learn, prototype and compare, and replace them with your own before you publish anything.

FAQ
Questions about Website to HTML
What is a website to HTML converter?
A tool that saves a web page as plain files you can open and edit: its HTML, its CSS and its images. Sitepeel’s opens the page, waits for every section to load and saves what renders, not the near-empty file a script-built site sends first.
How do I convert a website to HTML?
Paste the link and press Get HTML. When the copy is ready, check the preview, then press Download ZIP and open index.html, or copy the HTML and CSS. Our guide shows how to clone a website step by step.
Can I download the HTML of a website?
Yes, for any public page: this saves the HTML a browser builds once the page has loaded, with one CSS file and its images. Chrome’s Save page as also works, but it keeps every script and tracker, and pages built by scripts often break without them.
Is it legal to copy a website’s HTML?
Saving a page to study it is usually fine, but its text, images, logos and design belong to the site’s owner. Use the copy to learn and prototype, and replace those parts with your own before you publish, or ask the owner. Read what you can and can’t clone.
Does it copy the JavaScript?
No. Scripts are left out on purpose, so the copy opens anywhere with no tracking. Menus, sliders and forms that need scripts keep the look they had when the page loaded.
Will the copy look exactly like the site?
Very close at desktop width: the HTML is the page as it rendered, and the CSS keeps the site’s own rules, breakpoints and fonts. Embedded frames, streamed video and anything that changes when you click can differ.
Can I copy an entire website?
This copies one page at a time, and its links still point to the live site. Run it on each page you need, or see HTTrack and other website copiers for whole sites.
Can I turn it into a React or Tailwind project?
Use Clone prompt for that: it writes one prompt that rebuilds the page in your own stack with Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable or v0. The HTML and CSS here are the page’s own code.
Is Website to HTML free?
Yes, to start: you get a few free copies, then sign in (free) to keep going, and lifetime access makes them unlimited.
